Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy 2024
Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy, the Polish launch of this year’s World Investor Week (WIW), took place on the GPW Trading Floor on Monday, 7 October 2024. The event, which began with the ringing of the stock exchange bell, was attended by Maciej Trybuchowski, President of KDPW and KDPW_CCP.
Organised in many countries, Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy inaugurates the World Investor Week and aims to popularise the WIW campaign and its main objective, which is to raise public awareness of the role of financial education in protecting investors in the financial market. Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy is coordinated globally by the World Federation of Exchanges.
The World Investor Week is a global campaign launched by the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in 2017 to raise public awareness of the role of investor education and investor protection in the financial market.
The campaign aims to promote initiatives undertaken in this field by national securities regulators and supervisors. During the World Investor Week, which is organised every year in the first week of October, IOSCO member institutions and their partners simultaneously carry out on six continents a range of educational initiatives aimed at prospective and existing investors including workshops, conferences, information and education campaigns, and competitions for investor education projects.
Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy has been organised by the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW), the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF), the GPW Foundation and the KDPW Group companies: Krajowy Depozyt Papierów Wartościowych and the clearing house KDPW_CCP.
